Our Super Star Spotlight of the month is Lisa Sorensen. With $23,678.50 in retail sales and 6 recruits for the contest year, here she shares with us some of her business insight and words of advice!
1) When did you start selling Pure Romance?
September 2012
2) What is your WHY?
My “WHY” is to save for retirement. I take a portion of my proceeds after each party and place it into a savings account. The uncertainty of the future scares me and I want to make sure that when my husband and I get to our mid to late 60’s that we have a nest egg to live on.
3) What level are you currently?
I have just reached Director level.
4) What is your favorite item to demo and why?
I like to demo the Vibrating Pleasure Beads. Why I like to demo it? Because I find that the area of anal play is so taboo for a lot of ladies out there. When I do a party, I want everyone at my party to feel comfortable enough to know that they CAN talk to me about this supposedly “taboo” subject.
5) What is the #1 selling item at your parties?
It’s a tie between Booty Ease and Just Like Me Original.
6) Do you do anything extra special to spoil your hostesses?
Well, this is a secret so please do not tell anyone, but I totally spoil my hostess by giving them 20% hostess credits. Plus on top of that, I have an “Exclusive Book” for my hostesses that they can shop through that has nothing but exclusive items or discontinued items. The items are usually about 30% off in my book sometimes more depending on the price I got the item for. Plus, I always give some type of hostess gift.
7) What do you contribute to your success as a Pure Romance consultant?
I was brought up in the Wal-Mart Company and had the opportunity to meet Sam Walton several times. He was just a great man and so down to earth. His big philosophy in life was that you make your customer happy and that no matter what, your customer is always right even if you know she is wrong. So, I think to myself, what would I want in a Pure Romance consultant? I would want someone that would treat me as a sister instead of seeing dollar signs on my forehead. I would want someone to drive 2 hours because my bullet broke and I just bought the thing because I wanted to have a great evening with my husband. I would want a consultant that cared about me and able to give me information about an item instead of trying to figure out what I needed in a porn store on the Interstate. That is ME and I have done every single one of those things for one or more of my ladies. When you are willing to do those things for the ladies, then they will be customers for life.
8) What is your favorite quote?
"If you do not take care of your customers, someone else will." - Sam Walton.
He is so correct in that quote. Ladies, if you do not take care of your customers, there will another consultant standing in the background ready to take your business. We are no different than Wal-Mart. How many times have you gone to Wal-Mart and the lines were back to never never land and you just leave your items and go to Dollar General? This is the same thing that will have to your customers if you do not take care of them and make them happy.
9) Give some words of advice for new consultants coming into the company that you think would help them make their business a successful one.
Well, I am still a new consultant so for me to even have to fill out the questionnaire is hilarious. But anyway, here it goes… Meetings, Training and Love your customers. You need to attend as many meetings as possible. I get so motivated when I got to Amy’s or Julie’s meetings and totally disappointed when I cannot make it. I feel like I am missing something. Training is an essential part of your business. Be sure to signed up for PRU because it has helped my business so much! It is a free event that Pure Romance gives back to their consultants. And, LOVE for your customers and business. If you do not love what you are doing, I do not believe you will have the motivation to get out there and work your business. You have to have the desire to make a difference in your life and your customers lives.
