Consultant Spotlight - February 2014 - Becky Howard

Our Consultant Spotlight of the month is Becky. Here she shares with us some of her business insights and words of advice!
1. When did you begin your Pure Romance career?
I began my Pure Romance career June 28, 2013.
2. What attracted you to Pure Romance? What was your “why”?
I was first attracted to Pure Romance because of the flexibility & earning potential because I needed a job that would allow me to remain at home with my children. My youngest child was born with medical problems that made it impossible for him to be in a daycare setting because the risk of infection was too great for him his first 9 months of life. He has overcome these medical issues but we were left with a few developmental delays. Pure Romance has allowed me to remain at home with him & give him the one on one attention that the daycare would not be allowed to do. Not only be with my son but I am able to be at all of my daughter’s preschool functions & now cheerleading sessions.
3. Has your “why” changed since you’ve been in business?
My “why” has changed I would say just in a few short months of beginning this journey. It is not really my “why” but my “want”. My “want” is far bigger than my “why” now!!! My why has always been for my family but my want now is, well huge: I see Pure Romance bringing out the very best of me that then allows me to be a better mother & wife. My want for my family is for my children to never go without (financially or emotionally), to always have a strong mom to look up to, and for my husband to not have to carry the weight of the finances on his shoulders. Pure Romance can offer all of these things & more! My want for myself is to continue my own personal growth that Pure Romance has ignited! I am more confident, happy, excited, and passionate than I have ever been before!
4. Have there been any surprises in your business or has it been exactly what you imagined it would be?
Oh yeah it has surprised me! I never dreamed that in 7 months I would already have a team & working my way to director level. I am truly honored that I have met some amazing women that have trusted enough in me to join my team. I look forward to watching these ladies grow their own business and can’t wait to see each of them in the spotlight someday. The sisterhood that Pure Romance has is very unique & inspiring!
5. What is your favorite thing about being a consultant?
There are so many things I love about being a consultant but I really enjoy giving the ladies a fun party with information that they can take back to their partner to better their relationship.
6. Share with us a short term goal and a long term goal.
My short term goal on a business level is to hit Director by World Conference this August & on a personal level to book my Disney trip for my daughter's 5th birthday before she starts kindergarten. My long term goal is to continue moving up the “ladder” with Pure Romance & advance to Senior Director.
7. Do you have a favorite item to demo? What and Why?
Favorite item to demo, hands down, is Frequent Flyer Swing! I love this because it really gets the attention of the ladies & gets them very interactive. Most have never actually seen the Frequent Flyer in person so they usually get very excited about it. Once they see one of their girlfriends in it doing all the different positions with ease they are sold!
8. Is there anything special that you do for your hostesses to build rapport or get them to book with you?
I like to spoil my hostess with products but I always like to let them know that I am here to help plan this party with them. I offer to set up the Facebook event invite, along with offering to mail out invitations, and I also let them know that I bring everything needed to do my demo including my own table. I like to take any & all stress right out of it for them so that they are less likely to cancel & more likely to have a great time!
9. What advice would you give to a brand new consultant?
My best advice to our new consultants is to PICK up the phone & make those calls to book your parties. When I began over the summer I took part in one of the booking challenges, Hot Potato, and because I did I ended up booking 5 parties! That seriously helped kick start my business! The other advice I would give is to practice your demo & don’t be afraid to make flash cards to help you until you no longer need them.
10. Is there anything else you would like to share with us?
