1. When did you begin your Pure Romance career?
February 29, 2012
2. What attracted you to Pure Romance? What was your “why”?
I am a bus driver by trade, but since we don't get paid in the summer, I knew I needed something to compensate my income. Getting a summer job (yeah, right like there is any of them available) made no sense because I have 4 kids home and would have to pay daycare which would eat the majority of my pay from a corporate job. So after searching and researching all the direct sales businesses I chose PR. For many reasons 1. Their reputation 2. Their compensation plan (one of the highest I found) 3. Their dedication to sexual education and 4. I have found that no matter the economy there are 3 things most women will buy: Purses, shoes and sex.
3. Has your “why” changed since you’ve been in business?
Oh yes, it started as just extra income, then my husband broke 13 vertebrates up the right side of his back and went back to work a month later... within 2 months of being back to work, he has completely disabled himself. So, then my "why" went to needing to make up for his lost income. My why today is still funding my family, but it is so much more. I love empowering other women to not miss a soccer game or any one of the 13 first days of school. Or making their camper payment or paying off student loans...whatever their why is, I love to watch them hit their goals. I love educating women. I love being part of such an amazing team. I love that I can say "I am taking this day off to go see Santa with my baby" or "I am taking that day off to sit in the cold to watch my Aubrey cheer her heart out". I love that I am able to walk beside my son every step of his senior year no matter how many tears I shed, happy or sad. I love that I can be that soccer bus driver that the boys count on to get them to every game safely. Without Pure Romance I couldn't do or be any of these things because without the income from Pure Romance I would not still be able to drive bus and support my family. The income from my bus job is just not high enough.
4. Have there been any surprises in your business or has it been exactly what you imagined it would be?
Oh my! So, so many surprises. First and foremost, I never thought I would be able to support my family on Pure Romance. Now even if I lost my bus job I know we would be secure financially. The real surprise came when I joined though. I never imagined I would be surrounded by so many great women and such a supportive corporate company.
5. What is your favorite thing about being a consultant?
Almost all are listed above in question 3. But my most favorite thing about being a consultant is being able to challenge myself and not be restricted by Corporate America and their restraints.
6. Share with us a short term goal and a long term goal.
Short term goal.. 1. Graduating my son 2. hitting $2000 a month retail for 6 months. Long term goal .. President's Club and Senior Director.
7. Do you have a favorite item to demo? What and Why?
This isn't fair, I love so many! I love demoing Wanda. I am not really sure why, but the girls all seem to love her, she is fun to demo and she is just an amazing product. One of my best sellers.
8. Is there anything special that you do for your hostesses to build rapport or get them to book with you?
I spoil each and every one of my hostesses in different ways. I always try to get a wish list from them so I can give them something off of their wishlist just for booking with me. I make the party all about them and what they want. I make sure to text them when I am on my way to see if they need anything and before I set my stuff up, I help them with whatever they need help with for their party! I talk to them about what they want from their party. The biggest thing is I get to know THEM as a person.
9. What advice would you give to a brand new consultant?
WORK your business. Two things were said to me when I started: 1. The only way you will fail is if you don't show up for work. Do office work two hours a day. Go to trainings and meetings; they are the stepping stones to a successful business and no matter how much you know you will never know it all. And 2. Some will, some won't, so what? Don't let the NOs discourage you, let them motivate you!!
10. Is there anything else you would like to share with us?
My successes were not done by myself. If it wasn't for this team, my sisters, and my support staff I would not be where I am now. Thank you for everything!!!
